My son was good enough to be with me, it was great to have him there. It meant so much that he was there to share his mummies moment.
I got good responses, from people viewing my work, but no one asked anything about it. Lesson learned; make your story clear and interesting to look at, but great opportunity to show what I made. I have been asked to speak at my local ‘Cause’ http://www.cause.org.uk at their final monthly meeting. An organisation that have been great support to me. Going to talk about my work and hopefully be an inspiration to others.
‘Emotional works that started of my mark making to represent sadness.’
‘The Emotional Truth’
Mt three capes represent my family, me, my son Kieran and my daughter Alana. The concept continues on from my first semester were I was using Wonder Woman as inspiration to portray ‘The Strength of Woman’. Then I used the Wonder Woman costume here I’m using the idea of the cape of a superhero, except this is a family of superhero’s who have been through an emotional battle but through it all have come out the other side and stand together.
My business card used to go with my degree show that brands me as a textile artist.
Come to the degree show at the Ulster University, Belfast and see my capes in detail and get to appreciate the embroidery used on them. It runs till Saturday the 13th of June.
