Quick cushion

Before I put in my blog the instructions of how I put together one of my new ‘wrist pouches’ I put together this quilted cushion. I had the cut out piece of denim and wadding sitting in my workspace since last year and really wanted to finish it.

This however is my new design to reusingtheblues. Keeping it simple by using an old design I have used many times before. It’s inspired by tree bark from the old trees that are growing in the Bangor Castle grounds, where I first took photos for my foundation course. This seems a long time ago but I still favour the texture of these wonderful old plants. The folds and textures in their barks are very tactile to me and perfect for quilting.

This is it without the cushion inside. With the denim I like to keep a bit thats cut roughly to show that it was once a pair of denim jeans.
